OK ... today I am totally cheating by using photos from my sister.  You all know I am drowning in Simplicity Halloween projects right now and so am scrambling for something I can post for you quickly.

And, you all know that my sister Theresa is drowning in a couple kilos of beads that she is, at this very minute, hook stitching on to panel after panel of a dress she plans to wear at the Savoy in London on New Year's.

But, a couple weeks ago she sent me a few photos of another dress she made for this London trip.  She hasn't had time to write comments, but I will post the photos anyway. Maybe later she can explain a little.  But what I do know is ... this is a piece of vintage fabric she bought in Bath, England on a previous visit.  I really, really love her clever use of the print.

Enjoy!

And let's all send our best thoughts and prayers to her so she can complete her dress.

An aside ... see the banker's boxes under her table?  That is just part of her unbelievably huge and amazing collection of vintage sewing patterns.

But, really, the back is the best!

How elegant! Is this a pattern we can actually purchase?

I will ask her, but I bet it is a very old vintage pattern she adapted specifically for this fabric ... but I will ask. Haven't talked to her for DAYS, She is chained to her beading loom, I think.

Actually, I draped that one. Sorry, no pattern. I had sat on that fabric for 14 years and finally figured out what I wanted to do with it. I do LOVE that design, a total "go to".
