If you have been reading my blog over the last three weeks, you may have noticed they were posted at odd hours and I nearly missed posting one day completely!

Well, I can now tell you I've been in Southeast Asia for the last three weeks and am working my way home right now and I will be writing this blog as I progress through 3 airports. I am in the Singapore at this moment.

My husband had business in Singapore and I couldn't let him go without ME.

This has been a fabric centered trip. I have been to Bali, Singapore, the temples of Cambodia and Bangkok. In each place I have found and purchased wonderful fabrics for gifts and for myself. In Bali and Cambodia I toured an Ikat factory and silk farm.

Here I am ready to leave Bangkok, our last stop, loaded down with yards and yards (or should I say meters) of fabric.

Next installment ... In Japan.

I have an hour to sit in the Tokyo international airport. I would love to actually see Japan someday. But this trip it is just a stopover.

They have a small shop with over priced old kimonos. Something to kill the time before boarding the plane.

Here's the page in my passport with the big visa I had to purchase to enter Cambodia and the smaller one for Bali. Singapore and Thailand don't require visas from US citizens, they just stamp a page on your passport.
Well, I changed my mind. I was going to write the last part of this blog in the San Francisco airport, but I may not have much time. I have to retrieve my one checked bag and go through customs and recheck it before boarding the plane for the third and final leg of this long journey.

So ... Over the next month I will have fabrics to share and stories to tell. And then over the next year or so I will turn my fabric finds into new wardrobe pieces for myself and gifts.

One photo to prove I'm really here in Tokyo.

And another.

And one from the gift shop.

This has been a great, fabulous, terrific, interesting and fun trip. But I'm so ready for my own bed, my own coffee and my own favorite chair to read in.

OMG! You were in Singapore?
Hope you managed to check out Arab Street, Little India, Chinatown (Blk 32 People's Park) and maybe Joo Chiat Complex/Geylang Serai for some interesting Cloths finds. ;)

We dun have good prices like Bangkok (CHEAP! CHEAP!) but occasionally at these places you can find some rare interesting finds.

Sounds like a wonderful trip, I can't wait to see all the fabric!

So amazing! I managed to squeeze in some yarn shopping in some of my recent international trips (Peru, Iceland, Ireland) but the only time I was in Asia (China) we mostly saw stores selling finished articles. Can't wait to read all about your adventures.
