New patterns being released

7/29/2013

Several new patterns of mine are being released today, as well as a couple for which I've just done the patterns and samples. Over the next couple of weeks I will devote one or two blogs to each of these patterns to explain the choices I made and show you how things were sewn.

OMG! All looked JUICY especially the Galadriel one! :D
Can't wait to get my hands on them as the base for my future Middle-Earth Costume Projects but it's gonna be a long wait for now as my local Spotlight only stock up on the new patterns some 6-12 months later than USA. >_<

Andrea—I remember you saying you tried out for PR and didn't make it. My guess is that you're: (a) too stable; and (b) too good at what you do.

However, knowing you for the consummate actress you are, couldn't you develop an off-the-wall character that would make the producers scramble to get you on the air?

I love the Galadriel dress! My fellow LOTR costumers are salivating over the Dwarves. I'm looking forward to your getting in more detail about them. While I have yet to even think about making the Galadriel dress, I wondered about the possibility of making it more of a mermaid style to get the effects in the film (even though it's not the actual way the dress is made) without a train.

I was just thinking that I would love to hear about what it's like to make patterns for a pattern company like Simplicity. Do you work at home or in their workrooms? Do you propose the ideas, or do they tell you what they want? Do you do the sewing for the photo shoots? Do you work on salary, commission, and/or royalties? Do you do the grading? Write all the instructions? I think that a blog (or 2 or 3) describing the general process would be very interesting!

I may have to start thinking seriously about when I'll retire, just so I'll have time to sew some costumes.

I want to know what fabric you used for the Galadriel dress that drapes so beautifully. Looking forward to reading the story of these patterns.

They should be in the store in less than a week and available at the Simplicity website in a few days. I will let people know when.

Is there a Tauriel pattern in the future? I hope so! These look great. So cool they are doing Thorin. And finally an Amy Brown pattern!

Thanks!
Weebly has a free version which has some limitations. I am paying for this site but not much.

G'Day. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of pattern 1917 (I think), the Edward Ian ladies dinner pattern. I was disappointed to not find it available in the latest Simplicity pattern book here in Australia. How do I get my hands on that pattern?

Do you think a Tauriel costume pattern could be in the works? I've been looking for one for months now and can't find anything close.

The answer to your question is, YES. I just finished a pattern in December that has one view for Tauriel. I'm guessing it will come out early summer, but that's just an estimate.
Thanks for commenting.
