This is what I've managed to get done in the last 4 weeks! See progress report #2

I now have 6 complete blocks, one almost done and 9 that need the gold color border. This is out of 64 needed. That means I managed to make 3 inner blocks and put the gold border on 4 1/2 in the last month... sigh. I've been a busy.

I also have the pieces cut for 7 more, so that means I've at least started (if you count cutting as starting) 23 of the blocks, which is a little over a third!!!

This is supposed to be my traveling project, so here I am sewing at my brother-in-law's house in Boulder, Colorado last week at my husband's family reunion. That's him sitting next to me looking at the amazing family tree my sister-in-law Wanda has been working on for a quite a while now. We are also surrounded by albums and albums of old photos. It was a great visit.

BUT!

Sewing on the road can be risky ...
Picture
I finished one complete block on the plane ride out.  We were delayed, had to land at Colorado Springs, refuel THEN go to Denver. So, to keep myself from being very frustrated, I just kept sewing. That was good.
Picture
I was working on this block while talking to lots of people and somehow ended up missing one piece ... grrrrr ....
Picture
So I started another one, and see that piece I'm holding?  Well, the family dog got ahold of it and was chewing on it which is bad, but also I am VERY allergic to dogs ... so ...
Picture
Today I pulled out the leftover strips and located the exact colors. There are many very, very similar colors.

And cut a new piece for each .... I will have to be more careful while sewing away from home.

Oh, dear... not "the dog ate my homework!" So glad you had extra bits of strips. And yes, cutting counts. Progress is progress, no matter how small.
