THANK YOU! ... everyone who sent in photos so far.

I thought it would be fun to start off with two readers version of one of the costumes I shared of my own on Friday, the 1880's bustle pattern #5457 and then some other more historic stuff.

I plan to put these all on a permanent page here on my website.  I hope seeing everyone's work will be an inspiration to others. It inspires me.
This is an on going invitation ... please send more to scheweandrea@yahoo.com

Here is Jacqueline Lakeman who made it to wear in her high school production of The Matchmakers ... really pretty!

Here is the front view with a friend who looks like she used the skirt, at least for her costume.
Jaqueline was worried the cameo was too large, but for a stage production I think it is perfect.

Susan Townley Smith also used the 1880's bustle pattern for this black and red version.  I like the reticule very much. We will be seeing more from Susan.

Next I have two renditions of my Cold Mountain pattern #4900.

Here is Susan Townley Smith again! I'd love to know where this photo was taken!

Val Labore also used pattern #4900 for her ensemble here.  It looks very Dickensian to me with the plaid skirt and velvet top.  If you are interested in historic costuming, Val has a terrific blog ... check it out!

From Erin Emms ... La Carlotta (Phantom of the Opera-movie) using Simplicity 4092 modified for a wider skirt at the hips to accommodate the over exaggerated hoops as well as lowering of the sleeves for that off the shoulder look.

LOVE for detailing, Erin!

So, later this week maybe Wednesday I will post a group on another theme.

Again ... THANKS.

I'm so glad you're doing this, Andrea! It can be eye-opening to see how many different ways different people can make up the same pattern.

Just curious on pattern #4092: where did you find your fabric for dress B? I absolutely love it and hope to find something similar to it.

Thank you for your help in this matter!

That sample was make a while ago, but I believe I got the fabric at Joann's. BUT it shouldn't be hard to find something similar. It is a home dec fabric, so look on line for home dec brocades or jacquard fabrics.

Good luck.
