This film is a little "X" rated! But was too good and interesting not to share.
The morning after Costume Academy in St. Louis, I was having breakfast with some of the people involved with the event and someone let me know about this wonderful old silent film of a lady getting undressed in 1897. It is fascinating to see all the layers coming off her and to see the shape her body (from the back) from a life of corset wearing. This film is a little "X" rated! But was too good and interesting not to share.

I think a naked rear view only counts as an R rating. I see what you mean about the shape of her back, but I was actually more struck by her pretty, unmarred shoulders and straight posture. No deep bra-strap divots or round-shoulder computer stoop! I think bra marks are really the modern equivalents to corset marks, but less attractive. As a full-figure woman, mine just seem to get deeper every year... seriously considering a switch to corsets now. ;-)

Was that coffee-colored stuff water? And, if that's the Victorian idea of a bath, whew! things were pretty odiferous!

Definitely interesting to watch. It seems as though she had a body stocking on. Not nude. The body shape was definitely interesting to see. Most would assume that with that much corset wearing the shape would be smoother. Fascinating nonetheless. And I totally agree with the above comment on the posture, shoulder slope and lack of bra markings(oh to get rid of those!!!)

The lady actually appears to be wearing a bodysuit under her clothes, so she's not actually naked- I believe this is a Georges Melies film, and the lady is his longtime partner Jeanne d'Alcy. Interesting to see how she fastens her garters over her chemise!

I believe they faked the water with the dry stuff. And, it is a Melies film. I thought it was a great find and am pleased to see you shared it!
